Arnab Goswami's REPUBLIC: Team, Funds and Launch Date

Viewers of English News Channel in India were missing Arnab Goswami since last one month. Indian media personalities have always been seen as taking anti India stand. But, Arnab Goswami is away from this herd. Because of this, he was severely abused by so called eminent media personalities like Barkha Dutt and Rajdeep Sardesai. Fortunately, that doesn’t stop Arnab from his habit of calling spade a spade. Viewers also gave him immense love which was reflected in huge TRP for News Hour, the debate show that Arnab used to host at Times Now.

REPUBLIC the New NEWS Channel

On last day at Times Now, Arnba Goswami had hinted about his upcoming venture. Everyone was expecting him to launch an independent channel which can take stand for India without any outside corporate or political influence. Now, the news is out about brand new media venture.

Arnab is going to launch a new English News Channel named Republic. As indicated by him, this channel will try to kill the hegemony of BBC and CNN, among others.

Republic is funded by a South Indian industrialist. The detail of exact ownership is yet to be made public. It is believed that a big Bangalore based media baron is also behind the project. Arnab Goswami has said that within two weeks he will disclose all details about Republic.

While announcing his new venture, Arnab Goswami has asked people of India to support him.

The new channel is expected to be launched before the next UP Assembly Election.

Needless to say, as the name of the channel indicates, he is going to launch it on 26th January, 2017 – the Republic Day of India.

Journalists of Republic

Arnab is going to make a team on his terms. He wants a team which can remain loyal to the profession of journalism without any fear or favor. He is looking forward a team which can justify the tag that is usually attached with media as the Fourth Pillar of democracy.

Some of the prominent names which are going to join Republic are Aditya Raj Kaul (Times Now), Gaurav Sanwant (India Today/Aaj Tak), Shiv Aroor (Aaj Tak) and Minhaz Merchant , among others. It should be noted that the exact team is yet to be announced.

People are expecting Arnab to maintain the same style of having debate in a fiercely interrogative style.
