Mukesh Pandey was appointed as the new District Magistrate (DM) of Buxar on 31st July. Ten days later his body is found near Ghaziabad station. The body was lying on the railway track severed into two parts.
This is quite a horrific incident. The suicide looks quite mysterious. However, the suicide note found from his pocket and a message sent to a relative is indicating that there may not be any foul play in the case.
Mukesh Pandey was an IAS officer of 2012 batch belonging to Bihar cadre.
He had cracked UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2011 with All India Rank of 14. He started career as DDC of Katihar, where he won hearts of residents with proactive and people centric administrative approach. He was a happy go lucky person who used to take life not so seriously.
