Sambhaji Raje and Maratha Kranti Morcha

Sambhaji Raje is a descendant of the Royal Family of Kolhapur. He is quite popular among the Maratha community of Maharashtra. He has projected himself as the biggest Maratha leader. He is also eyeing to become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Sambhaji Raje has turned a silent and highly disciplined Maratha protest into a panic creating and disruptive movement for reservation. After the brutal rape and murder of a teen girl in Kopardi, the Maratha community started to mobilize. The girl was a Maratha. The community formed Maratha Kranti Morcha.

This Morcha started silent protests throughout Maharashtra. These protests were remarkable for being highly disciplined. They were asking for strict punishment for the culprit who had raped and killed a little girl in Kopardi.

The silent protest by Maratha Kranti Morcha also led to social awareness. They were calling out parents to teach boys how to respect women. This protest is unique in the sense in India because of its approach to cleanliness. Thousands of protesters used to gather at a place and when they left, there used to be no sign of littering. This is, in fact, a highly unlikely scenario in India. There is no match for this kind of peaceful protests in India.

Sambhaji Raje entered the fray sensing a big political opportunity. This royal man was has always been politically active among Maratha community. However, he was unable to make a mark because of Marathas association and support for Shiv Sena.

Sambhaji Raje thinks himself as the undisputed leader and protector of Maratha community. This is obviously the downfall of the name of Kolhapur dynasty. A heir is openly going for casteist approach in the hope of dividing the society.

Sambhaji Raje took lead of Maratha Kranti Morcha and turned a peaceful and disciplines protests into highly chaotic and pathetic protest. There is no more demand for punishment to the rapist. The demand is now to give reservation to Maratha.

Reservation being a free butter in India and no castes are willing to leave out. Forward castes are coming out throughout India in demand of reservation against the ethos of the Constitution.

Sambhaji Raje is also going through the same route. He is using Maratha Kranti Morcha to forward his own political ambitions. Sensing his popularity, the BJP Government had recommended his name for the Rajya Sabha. He is now a nominated RS member, which give him more opportunity to vent his voices for undemocratic demand of Maratha.

Sambhaji Raje and Maratha Kranti Morcha are disrupting the normal life in Maharashtra. Recently, they held protests in Mumbai and brought the entire city to standstill.
